Live Well Retirement Navigation Overview

Over the years, we’ve learned that our clients benefit most when financial planning is paired with thoughtful guidance on life’s transitions.  We understand that transitions such as housing choices, caregiving responsibilities, and lifestyle shifts can be emotionally complex, and that family dynamics often play a significant role in shaping your decisions and experiences along the way.

That’s why we created the Live Well Retirement Navigation℠ program—to integrate life planning into our financial planning services in a way that supports not just individuals, but their families as well.

Live Well Retirement Navigation

FAQLearn More About Our Program

Our History

  • The Live Well Retirement Navigation℠ program is a personalized coaching service we extend to our valued clients as part of their engagement with Financial Council.

Unlike traditional firms, our approach integrates financial planning with life planning to support every phase of life. We recognize that decisions are deeply personal and often complex, which is why we offer guidance tailored to your unique circumstances.

  • Retirement coaching is a structured, intentional process for individuals anticipating retirement or recently retired. It helps you define the life you want while navigating shifts in identity and purpose.

For many professionals, work provides meaning, structure, and social connection. Leaving a full-time role can feel uncertain because this transition isn’t just about stopping work—it’s about redefining who you are and what matters most.

Through voluntary sessions, our retirement coach works with you to clarify goals and values, identify barriers, and brainstorm solutions. Together, you’ll create a personalized roadmap for retirement that moves you from a career-driven identity to a purpose-driven life.

This clarity becomes the cornerstone of your financial strategy. With a clear vision for retirement, you and your financial advisor can design a plan that aligns your resources with your purpose.

  • Place planning is a process of intentionally choosing where to live to maximize your health, social connection, purpose in life, and financial resources. Through the LWRN program, we help clients explore housing choices and make proactive decisions that support their well-being and long-term goals.

  • As a trusted partner, Financial Council is uniquely positioned to provide holistic support to our clients as they pursue lives of meaning and connection. We understand that the conversations we share shape some of the most important—and often most expensive—decisions of their lives. By integrating life and financial planning, we deliver a process that is more personal, more precise, and more proactive to help our valued clients make confident choices that align with their goals and values.

Our motto says it best: Plan Well. Retire Well. Live Well ℠. The LWRN program brings this philosophy to life, empowering our clients and their families to truly Live Well.

  • The LWRN program complements the wealth management services our clients expect, deserve, and receive from the Financial Council team. We have an experienced navigator, Meg Stoltzfus, as a full-time member of our staff to lead this program. Her role ensures seamless coordination with our advisors, allowing them to remain focused on managing clients’ financial assets.

  • Financial Council is pleased to offer this program at no cost to our valued clients. There is no charge to attend seminars, access content or participate in a consultation with the Navigator.

  • Meg Stoltzfus, LCPC is the Live Well Retirement Navigator at Financial Council. She brings over 10 years of experience as a work-life professional at Johns Hopkins University where she managed pre-retirement programming and eldercare services. Meg is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, a retirement coach, and an Aging Life Care Professional® through the Aging Life Care Association.

  • Financial Council provides timely, ongoing educational content related to the LWRN program through our monthly Connections newsletter.  We also sponsor educational opportunities to learn about topics related to senior housing decisions and caregiving concerns. Please feel free to suggest topics to your advisor that you would like to learn more about. Some clients may also choose to request a meeting with the Navigator for more individualized assistance.

  • The LWRN program is exclusively available to Financial Council clients, as it’s designed to complement and integrate with their personalized financial plans. This ensures that the guidance provided aligns with each client’s broader financial strategy and long-term goals.

  • It’s never too early to start planning for a longer, more fulfilling life. With increased longevity, we encourage proactive steps today to help provide comfort and security in the future. For example, you might be considering whether your home meets your present and future needs or preparing to care for a loved one. While early conversations are ideal, we’re also here if a sudden health change or crisis arises.

If you or a family member need assistance or resources, please reach out by calling our office at (401)821-9200 or emailing us at LWRN@financialcouncil.com to schedule a consultation.
