What to Expect from an Initial Meeting
Our initial meeting is a complimentary, confidential, and no-obligation opportunity to get to know each other, answer your initial questions, determine if our services can be of value to you, and to see if you want our help moving forward.
Because of this, we typically ask to receive as much information about your financial lives as you are comfortable sharing with us ahead of our initial meeting with the intent that you will find our initial meeting helpful and informative, regardless of whether we work together on a more formal basis moving forward.
The information we ask for generally includes the following:
- Summary of any Major Goals, Questions, or Other Relevant Facts
- Recent Bank and Retirement Account Statements (checking and savings, 401k, 403b, IRA, Roth IRA, pension, etc.)
- Recent Loan Statements (mortgage, HELOC, auto, student loans, credit cards, etc.)
- Most Recent Tax Returns
- Most Recent Paystubs
- Employer Benefit Enrollment Summaries
- Recent Insurance Statements, especially related to life insurance, long-term care insurance, and/or disability insurance
- Estate Planning Documents (i.e. Will, POA, Medical Directives, Trusts)
- Budget/Expenses
We prefer to have our initial meetings in-person when possible, but we are also happy to meet virtually over Zoom or by phone.
To best serve couples, we ask that both partners be present, allowing for a better understanding of your shared financial goals.
