Meet the Team
Who You'll be Working With

Joe Pepper,
Wealth Planner

One of the things I love most about being a Wealth Planner is seeing hope and trust develop over time and working toward protecting client assets. Here are a few client testimonials.

When I met Joe several years ago, I was adamant that I had a "sure thing" in place and no one was going to talk me out of it. Joe asked me few questions and suggested I find out a few more details and I left his office. At the second meeting, I arrived a little softer and said all my mentors were going forward with this investment and I was too. After I shared my findings and thoughts, Joe suggested I ask a handful of additional questions. By the third meeting I returned with a changed perspective as I had discovered some things that made me pretty uncomfortable with this "sure thing”. I understood that I needed a comprehensive financial plan and inquired what Joe had to offer instead. By the fourth meeting, my friends had encountered some serious financial obstacles to their plans. I was so grateful Joe kept asking me to do more research. Today I do more traveling than I ever have, work in a more flexible setting and because of Joe now I have a solid financial plan in place that covers all the bases from income to savings to leaving my adult children resources when I pass. I don’t worry about money because of the education Joe shared with me and the foundation he helped me set up.  Instead I enjoy experiences that bring meaning and joy to life. This gives me a sense of freedom and accomplishment, which for me, is a healthy way to navigate life.

Joe Pepper,&#160;<br/>Wealth Planner

In my 25 years of service to individuals as a Wealth Planner, I've heard several stories like this.

After 3 years of wanting to retire and have my husband retire with me, I finally got tired of waiting. I sold my accounting business and stopped discussing retirement with my husband. We had been Joe's clients for 10 years at this point. A year later, when Joe sat down with us again, he asked the several questions. He asked my husband how he would be defined himself once he retired? Joe reminded him that men often wrap their entire identity into the work they do. My husband was stuck not being able to imagine himself as anything other than the worker he had been for the last 30 years. Joe then asked how he liked to spend his free time, he smiled when we started talking about the smell of wood when he sands it. He closed his eyes and imagined how smooth it felt after the project was complete. Eureka! That was it! The way he would define himself would be an extraordinary wood working craftsman. We talked about his need to build a shop and next steps. He turned in the papers to retire the next week. Today, we enjoy traveling more and have plans to get his wood shop set up.

I have a huge heart for business owners. I had grown my former manufacturing business into the 5th largest in the state before my doctor told me I needed to find another way to make a living due to a back injury. This drew me into Financial Services 24 years ago.

When I became a widow in 2019, I found myself overwhelmed with how to manage the life insurance funds I had received. After interviewing three financial advisors, I chose Joe Pepper because of his honesty, the thoughtful options he presented, and his genuine attentiveness to my concerns. As someone who wasn't very savvy with handling funds of this size, I greatly appreciated his patience and guidance. Joe understood what I wanted by listening to my goals and concerns. I am grateful for the expertise he has given me.

I am grateful to have helped create client experiences like these. Everyone is different and wants different things. It's an honor to journey with our clients through various seasons of life.

A Life Changing Event

When my girls asked if we could go to the Ice Cream Social after the choir concert, I got a pain in my gut. I knew I didn't have the funds to buy a simple scoop of ice cream for each of my daughters. I cheerfully answered "Sure!" we got in the car, and followed the other middle school families a few miles down the road. I painfully explained to my precious middle and elementary school daughters that we could go but I didn't have the funds to buy any ice cream.

Client Centered

They acted like that didn't matter, just to negate the impact on their overstretched mama. I felt crushed and defeated as I spoke these words while blinking the tears back into my eyes. Once we arrived at the ice cream shop, we gave hugs to the many friends we had there and then sat at a little table. It felt like I was in a slow moving nightmare knowing I couldn't buy 2 scoops of ice cream and anticipating the embarrassment my daughters and I would feel. One of the father's who knew our recent plight, graciously walked over and said, "May I buy you lovely ladies some ice cream? I'd be honored," he said. I swallowed hard and again blinked the tears back into my eyes and my daughters jumped up and hugged him.

During this pivotal moment I decided I would figure out how to never again have to choose between creating a memory with important people in my life or just not showing up. This painful experience has given me a passion to make sure you can create the memories you desire as well, no matter how big or small they might be.

You Had Better Sit Down For This

"You had better sit down for this," said Joe's Financial Advisor on a bright Saturday afternoon. Joe's advisor said he had invested all of Joe's money into a company called Enron. Joe had no idea what that meant. He discovered that Enron was the California electrical company that had created the worlds largest ponzi scheme. Shockingly, Joe was told that there was nothing left - zero! Joe had just retired at the age of 40 after selling his company. Now he was faced with a complete start over. He lost everything including the new custom home he had just built.

You Had better Sit Down For This

Joe had grown his construction manufacturing company over 15 years and it became the 5th largest in Colorado. In 1999 Joe had his 3rd back injury. His doctor said, "This is it. If you don't change what you are doing and come back in my office again looking like this, you will go out in a wheelchair."

Joe knew it was time for a change. He was drawn into Financial Services because he wanted a financial education for himself and because he saw so many others making financial mistakes. Joe did not want anyone to ever go through what had happened to him when he lost everything because of a crooked Financial Advisor. Joe's integrity and transparency are of utmost importance to him because of this.

In addition, Joe understands the unique challenges entrepreneurs face as they balance the needs of their growing business, investing for retirement, and wanting the best for their families. It can also be challenging to watch employees repeatedly make the same financial mistakes. These deep insights have led to a substantial client base of business owners and a passion for leading Financial Literacy Training within companies and sharing tax-saving strategies with business owners.
