Services & Fees
Coordinated retirement planning and investment management.

A flat-fee, fiduciary approach to taxes, income, and investments — built for people nearing or in retirement who want clarity, not complexity.

What's included

Integrated planning, by design.

Retirement decisions do not happen in isolation. Taxes, income, investments, Social Security, Medicare, and withdrawal strategy all affect one another. The work is structured around four connected areas — addressed together, not in sequence.

01

Tax Strategy

  • Roth conversions
  • RMD planning
  • Bracket management
  • Tax-loss harvesting
  • Year-end tax coordination
02

Investment Management

  • Asset allocation
  • Portfolio rebalancing
  • Evidence-based strategy
  • Tax-efficient investing
  • Account-type coordination
03

Income Planning

  • Social Security timing
  • Withdrawal sequencing
  • Cash flow planning
  • Medicare & IRMAA
  • Pension coordination
04

Risk & Legacy

  • Estate coordination
  • Beneficiary planning
  • Insurance review
  • Sequence-of-returns risk
  • Inherited IRA planning

Each of these areas affects the others. The value of a coordinated plan is that decisions are modeled together — not addressed one at a time in isolation. See how this plays out in practice on the retirement planning overview.

How the relationship works

Ongoing support throughout the year.

Financial planning and investment management are ongoing, not episodic. Markets change. Tax laws change. Life changes. Support is available throughout the year to keep your plan coordinated.

Regular planning meetings

Scheduled semi-annually to review your plan and address what's changed.

Investment management

Ongoing portfolio oversight — rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, and positioning coordinated with your income and tax picture.

Tax-year planning

Roth conversions, bracket management, and year-end decisions, revisited annually as your numbers come into focus.

Between-meeting access

Questions don't wait for scheduled calls. Reachable by email and phone when something comes up.

Many clients come to Mayfair Financial after years with an advisor who managed their investments but never connected them to taxes, income, or estate planning.

The difference here is coordination: every decision is made in the context of the others—which is what makes the plan work over time.

Transparent pricing

What you pay, and how it’s determined.

Mayfair Financial charges a flat annual fee that includes both retirement planning and investment management — no percentage of assets, no commissions, no charges that compound as your portfolio grows. The fee is $10,000 per year for most clients. Clients with a net worth above $10M or more complex financial circumstances are priced individually — discussed and agreed upon before any engagement begins.

Why a flat fee matters at scale

An asset-based fee of 1% on a $2,000,000 portfolio is $20,000 per year — and it compounds upward as assets grow. A flat fee is a fixed cost independent of portfolio size, which changes both the economics and the incentive structure of the advisory relationship.

What “fee-only fiduciary” means

Fee-only means compensation comes entirely from client fees — no commissions, no product sales, no referral arrangements. Fiduciary means a legal obligation to act in your interest.

The FAQ page covers common questions about fee structure, who Mayfair Financial works with, and what the planning process looks like.

Who this is for

You've done the hard part. Here's how we help you make the most of it.

Mayfair Financial works with individuals and couples in the St. Louis area and nationwide who are nearing or in retirement and want a more coordinated, tax-aware approach to managing what they've built.

Nearing or in retirement

The planning questions shift when employment income stops. Withdrawal strategy, tax management, and income sequencing become the primary focus — and they require a different kind of plan.

Meaningful assets to manage

A flat fee becomes most advantageous at higher asset levels — typically $500,000 and above — where a percentage-based fee would represent a significant and growing annual cost.

Looking for greater coordination

Many people arrive after years with an advisor who managed investments but never connected them to taxes, Social Security, or income strategy. Coordination is what was missing.

Prefer clarity over complexity

The goal is a plan that's understandable — not one that impresses with jargon. Decisions are explained, reasoning is shared, and you're involved at every step.
