Find answers to frequently asked questions about our services, planning process, and how we can help you reach your financial goals.
Getting Started
Call our Bartlesville office at 918-331-3705, reach our Tulsa office at 918-392-3303, or use the form on our Get Started page. We will set up a brief introductory call to learn about your situation and determine how we can help. No preparation required.
It is a conversation, not a sales pitch. After the introductory call, we schedule a meeting — in person at our Bartlesville or Tulsa office, or virtually — with everyone involved in the decision. We ask about your goals, your concerns, and what you already have in place, then explain where we believe we can add value. You will leave knowing exactly what the next steps would look like.
No. The introductory call and initial meeting are complimentary. If we decide to work together, we will explain how we are compensated for any specific service before you make a commitment.
Financial Planning
We look at your whole financial picture: cash flow and savings, investments and asset allocation, retirement income, insurance and risk protection, tax and estate considerations, and any employer or group benefits you have. The result is a coordinated plan — not a stack of separate products — with clear recommendations and a schedule for keeping it current.
As often as you prefer, but our standard planning calendar includes three touchpoints a year: an annual planning meeting early in the year to revisit goals and implement recommendations, a mid-year portfolio review and market update, and a year-end review covering open enrollment, insurance, tax, and estate strategies. Life changes — a new job, a birth, a divorce, a loss — are always a reason to call, no matter the month.
Yes. Tax considerations are woven into our planning, from account selection and asset location to distribution strategies and charitable giving, and we coordinate with your CPA or attorney on the details. Please note that Financial Advisor Network and its representatives do not provide legal or tax advice; always consult your tax and legal professionals regarding your specific situation.
Retirement & Insurance
Earlier than most people think — but it is never too late to improve your position. Compounding rewards early savers, while those within five to ten years of retirement benefit from focused decisions about Social Security timing, income strategy, health coverage, and risk. Wherever you are, we start from there.
Yes. We help clients evaluate Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, Medicare Advantage plans, and Part D prescription drug coverage, comparing options from multiple carriers to find the fit for your health needs and budget. We also help you understand enrollment windows so you can avoid penalties and gaps in coverage.
It depends on who relies on you, what you own, and what you could afford to lose. We start with a needs analysis that looks at your income, debts, dependents, health, and existing coverage — including anything through your employer — then recommend what to add, what to adjust, and sometimes what to drop. Our goal is the right coverage at an efficient cost, not the most coverage.
Services & Fees
Absolutely. Business owners have been at the heart of our practice since 1993. We help with group medical and employee benefits; retirement plans including 401(k), SIMPLE IRA, SEP IRA, profit-sharing, and cash balance plans; key person coverage; and succession planning — and we coordinate the business side with the owner's personal financial plan.
It depends on the service. Investment advisory services are generally fee-based, while brokerage and insurance products are compensated through commissions paid by the carrier or product sponsor. Before we implement anything, we walk you through exactly how we are compensated, so there are no surprises.
We do not have a set account minimum. We work with individuals, families, and businesses at many stages — from someone buying a first life insurance policy to a company launching its first 401(k). If we are not the right fit for a particular need, we will tell you.
