John Wahl, CFP®, ChFC® Co-founder & Wealth Advisor | One Bridge Wealth Management

Most of John's clients arrive at the same crossroads: they've spent years building meaningful wealth — through a career, a business, a 401(k), or all three — and they've reached the point where managing it themselves no longer makes sense. Others come to him following an inheritance, suddenly responsible for wealth they didn't build and unsure of the best path forward. Either way, they want the same thing: a plan, a partner, and someone who treats their financial life with the same care they've put into building it.

That's exactly why John co-founded One Bridge Wealth Management.

After years working within larger financial institutions, John made a deliberate decision: to build a company from the ground up that could deliver institutional-quality wealth management with the personal attention that high-net-worth families actually deserve. One Bridge was founded on that premise. It remains their  defining commitment today, driven by a genuine passion to continuously improve the financial lives of his clients and the quality of service delivered to them.

John works with two distinct groups of clients in the St. Louis area. The first are high earners in the wealth-building phase of life — professionals, executives, and business owners who are generating serious income and want to make sure every dollar is working as efficiently as possible through smart tax strategy, investment discipline, and intentional planning. The second are established families with $2 million to $10 million + in investable assets who have already built meaningful wealth and now need a partner to help protect, grow, and eventually transfer it.

For both groups, the financial decisions are rarely simple. Tax efficiency, retirement income sequencing, estate planning, investment strategy, and risk management don't exist in isolation — they intersect constantly. John's role is to bring those pieces together into a coherent, comprehensive plan that works across every dimension of a family's financial life.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Chartered Financial Consultant®, he specializes in investment strategy, wealth accumulation and retirement planning with families and business owners. As a CFP® professional, one of the duties owed to his clients is the fiduciary duty, whereby he acts as a fiduciary when providing Financial Advice to a client. Please see the CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.

In 2025, his commitment was recognized when John was named to Forbes' Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list — one of the most competitive independent rankings in the financial advisory profession. View the full list →

John is a St. Louis native who hasn't strayed far — and doesn't plan to. He and his wife Sarah are raising three kids here, and when he's not working with clients, you'll find him at the family farm or somewhere outdoors. He brings that same grounded, long-term thinking to his work: no shortcuts, no gimmicks, just sound advice built around what actually matters to the people he serves.

If you're at a point in life where your wealth deserves more than a generic portfolio and a quarterly statement, John would welcome a conversation.

Mark Witthaus

Financial Advisor, Managing Partner

Mark, a native of Hermann, Missouri, got his start in the financial field right after graduating from Truman State University in December 2001. He's always had a fondness for saving, investing, and all things numbers since high school. It was natural then that his first official job out of college was in the financial field, where he was hired to be an advisor and has never looked back.

Those early days and subsequent years in the profession have taught him what it truly means to be an advisor. It's not just about investing and crafting portfolios for clients, although that's certainly a major role. It's also adding value through social security planning, reviewing debt management questions, just to name a few. He views his job as one in which listening and communicating easy-to-understand plans are tantamount to his practice.

Today, while he has a relatively broad base of clients, his specialty is in serving the unique needs and dynamics associated with teachers and attorneys.

Mark lives in O'Fallon, Missouri, with his wife, Mary Ann, and kids (Ellie, Ryan, and Claire). Outside of his professional life, he loves to watch his kids play various sports, and most weekends you can find him in a gym or at a soccer field.

Kellie assists John and Mark in many aspects of wealth management and client service. She has spent her entire career providing professional customer service and brings that set of skills with her to the role of office management for the firm.  She brings a smile to work every day and finds the greatest value in the process of helping people achieve their goals.

When Kellie isn’t working, you’ll find her spending as much time as possible with her son, Alec, a high school senior, and friends and family, including her three dogs.  As a small town girl originally from Southern Illinois, that free time involves a country music concert as much as possible.
