A native of Norway, Arild has three decades of institutional investment experience both as an analyst and as a portfolio manager covering US and international companies. He has experience working for large mutual funds, pension funds, and a large sovereign wealth fund in various countries.
Arild attended the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in England, where he earned a degree in Management Sciences with Honors before getting his MBA with an emphasis in Finance at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He sat for the Chartered Financial Analyst exams earning the CFA® designation.
Arild started out as a financial analyst in Denver over 26 years ago where he covered several industries; however, most of his focus has been on the energy and material sectors. In his buy-side career, Arild has lived in multiple cities including Denver, San Francisco, and Des Moines in the US where he worked for Principal Financial Group, first as an analyst and later as a Portfolio Manager running a large US Value fund. From Des Moines, Arild moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE where he worked for ADIA, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. He worked as a portfolio manager covering US oil and gas companies and co-managing a global energy and utility fund. To be closer to his European roots, Arild moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands to be employed with the largest pension fund in the Netherlands, APG Asset Management, where he co-managed a developed market energy and utility fund.
Arild and his wife, Marty, currently reside in Florida, where they enjoy spending time together. Arild is an avid golfer. Both Arild and Marty enjoy traveling and have visited over 40 countries on six continents, willingly missing Antarctica. Arild is also an advanced snow skier, likes the outdoors, and loves to read with a focus on history and current global affairs.
