Undergrad Internships

Sandy interned for Young America Capital while she completed her undergraduate degree.
She learned quickly and became everyone's go-to person in the office. We wish her all the
best on her new venture and can't wait to hear about all her accomplishments in the future.

Senior Internships

Each year Young America Capital welcomes selected students from our local high school for
a Senior Internship. During their time in the office, they gain powerful insight and knowledge
through hands on experiences. We hope that the skills they learn will help them be better
prepared for whatever the future has in store for them. Below is a letter from one of our 2023
interns.

Dear Mr. Formanek,

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to intern with you over the past month. It was a very enjoyable experience since everyone in the office was so kind and welcoming. You were also flexible about letting me leave to go to track which I really appreciate. I learned a lot about the business world, and also gained some new skills. My new Microsoft Excel skills will help me organize data in more efficient ways. I also now have some experience with data collection websites such as Pitchbook and Zoomlnfo.

One thing that I found interesting while interning is the importance of marketing and promoting a business. When I first started data collecting, I was a little confused about how my information would be applied to help the business, but then our interview clarified a lot. One thing that stood out to me was that 40% of your business is marketing the company, which is why you spend large amounts of money and time on using data collection websites. This makes a lot of sense to me since the best way to grow a business is to spread awareness about it.
