With over 35 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, Rick specializes in assisting individuals and small businesses with creating a financial plan for life and aligning their investments with their moral and ethical values. He also assists them with reducing their current taxes, planning for retirement, and efficiently transferring their assets to their chosen heirs.

In 2018, Rick became a Certified Kingdom Advisor after completing the required 21 training modules. This certification is granted to financial professionals who demonstrate technical competence and the ability to apply biblical wisdom in counseling clients. Kingdom Advisors was born out of Larry Burkett’s Crown Financial Ministries in 2003 under the leadership of Ron Blue.

He completed his Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Legacy Planning from The American College of Financial Services in December of 2023. This master’s degree simultaneously fulfilled the requirements for the "Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy" (CAP) designation. The program provides the tools needed to assist clients, non-profits, and churches in articulating their highest aspirations for self, family, and society through charitable giving strategies and philanthropic planning.

Rick is a graduate of the Institute of Christian Service at Bob Jones University and received a B.S. degree in Pre-Seminary from Baptist Bible College & Seminary.

For several years, Rick has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees at Clarks Summit University, providing fiduciary oversight and serving on the marketing committee to implement strategic planned giving. At home, Rick serves his community as a Dave Ramsey Counselor and a Financial Peace University instructor. He is an active member of his church, serving as a deacon and small group leader. Currently, he serves as a board member for TurnAbout Community Resources Center Ministry in Russiaville, IN, and previously served with Preserve Marriage Ministries.

His past community involvement includes serving as a board member for Indiana Right to Life (both local and state levels), co-founder of Habitat for Humanity of the Kokomo Community, and President/Founder of Central Indiana Christian Broadcasting (WIWC 91.7 FM).

In his spare time, Rick enjoys reading biographies of great American preachers and running marathons. He notably ran the 2018 Boston Marathon as a charity runner for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Rick and his wife, Sara, have been married for over 50 years. Sara is the Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor and Lecturer at Indiana University - Kokomo (IUK). They have one son, Brian, a graduate of Wabash College, who is married to Aubrey. They have provided Rick and Sara with three grandchildren: Benjamin, John, and Anna.
