With a broad and diverse background in communications, marketing, consulting and wealth management, Bill provides a rich and powerful perspective on achieving personal and professional goals. As founder of Barker Strategic Solutions, he uses his talents, experience, and vision to help companies strengthen their brand positions, differentiate themselves in a challenging environment, focus their messaging and marketing efforts, and boost their bottom-line revenue. In his capacity as a consultant, Bill helps these organizations navigate change as he guides their growth and optimizes their full potential.

Prior to launching Barker Strategic Solutions, Bill boasted a highly successful professional career spanning thirty plus years in a complex media industry. He served as Regional President overseeing The Gannett Company and USA Today network operations in Florida, encompassing 24 local media business outlets in the state. Congruently, he served as President and Publisher of the Naples Daily News and Ft Myers News Press in Southwest Florida. Bill led the regional efforts to launch LocaliQ, the national marketing solutions organization for the USA Today Network.

Bill is a recognized leader, a competent executive well-versed in communications and critical thinking. He is a proven problem solver who is resourceful, resilient, optimistic, and energetic. He is a proven professional who demonstrates honesty and integrity in all his interactions. In his spare time Bill enjoys golf, traveling with his wife Rita and giving back to his community. Bill is the past Chairman of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. He is a current board member of The Community Foundation of Collier County, FGCU Foundation, and the Florida Press Association. He was recognized as one of the “100 most influential people in Florida politics” in 2018. He is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at Kellogg’s School of Management, and the Media Management Center at Northwestern University.
