Jason’s love of libraries was inspired by his grandmother, Marjorie Knox, who dedicated decades of service as librarian of the Wadena Public Library. To Jason, libraries are truly magical places that open doors to knowledge, spark imagination, and provide endless opportunities for discovery.

Jason and Amber Knox are passionate about giving back to the communities they serve. Through their Library Support Program, clients have the opportunity to nominate their favorite library to receive a charitable donation, helping ensure these treasured institutions continue to educate, inspire, and enrich lives for generations to come.

Supporting Libraries: More Than Just Monetary Contributions

Financial donations are valuable, but volunteering may make an even greater impact. Many libraries have numerous tasks to complete but never enough hands to tackle them all.

Whether it’s handyman work, computer assistance, organizing, cleaning, setting up tables and chairs, making calls, mailing envelopes, or any other skill, your contribution can be incredibly helpful. Reach out to the library to see how your talents can best support their efforts.

Amber and I have helped in countless ways—carrying tables and chairs, selling tickets, cleaning buildings, painting, handling carpentry projects, securing vendors, providing transportation, preparing meals, moving supplies, and even visiting landfills. We know firsthand that supporting a library doesn’t have to mean writing a check; there are so many ways to make a difference.

Simply getting involved strengthens the library and its mission.

Library Support Program Guidelines

Knox Financial Services makes charitable contributions to selected libraries on an ongoing basis. Submission of a nomination does not guarantee that a contribution will be made. All contributions are made at the sole discretion of Knox Financial Services, and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue this program at any time. To be eligible for consideration, a nominated organization must:

Be a publicly accessible library;
Be actively operating at the time of nomination;
Provide services within the greater Midwest region; and
Be nominated by an existing Knox Financial Services client.
For purposes of this program, an existing client is an individual or household receiving ongoing fee-based financial planning or investment management services under a current agreement with Knox Financial Services. Client eligibility will be determined at our sole discretion. Knox Financial Services reserves the right to approve or decline any nomination. Factors that may influence our decision include, but are not limited to:

Potential conflicts of interest;
Previous contributions to the nominated library;
Alignment with our charitable giving mission and priorities; or
Other considerations deemed relevant by our directors.
If a nominated library does not meet the program criteria, the client will be notified and may submit an alternative nomination for consideration. If a library has recently received a contribution from Knox Financial Services, the client may choose to have the nomination considered at a later date.

Nominations are generally reviewed in the order received. However, exceptions may be made for special circumstances, including time-sensitive fundraising campaigns, fiscal year-end considerations, matching gift opportunities, or other factors that warrant an adjusted timeline. While we strive to support as many qualifying libraries as possible, contributions are made according to a planned giving schedule designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.

All nominations are reviewed by our directors. Clients will be notified if their nomination is approved or declined and, if approved, when the library is scheduled to receive a contribution.
