WOMEN GIVING TOGETHER EVENT SETS FUNDRAISING RECORD

OVER $100K WILL BENEFIT DELAWARE COUNTY FAMILIES

(Columbus, Ohio) Women Giving Together (WGT), a women’s giving circle and donor-advised fund of the Delaware County Foundation, held its third annual Gather + Give event Nov. 19 at The Barn at Stratford in Delaware, Ohio. The event hosted approximately 130 attendees and raised $100,204 (an increase of over 50% from last year) for three area nonprofits: Family Promise, serving families facing homelessness; HelpLine, providing 24/7 crisis support services; and Turning Point, providing a haven for domestic violence survivors.

The evening reflected a true collaboration in the spirit of giving, as dozens of individuals and businesses came forward to help make it a success via in-kind donations and/or matching gifts, including The Robert Weiler Co, Habitec Security, Del-Co Water, Chicken Salad Chick, Olentangy River Brewing Co, Jeff Kirby, and other countless individuals.

“We were all inspired by the abundance of generosity, and the evening gave Women Giving Together an opportunity to highlight and honor the amazing work these organizations and human heroes do for the residents of Delaware county every day,” said Paula Tarpey, WGT Founding Member and Director of Wealth Management at Kensington Wealth Partners.

The funds raised will help provide housing, crisis services and life-saving support to hundreds of Delaware County families in the coming year.

“Women Giving Together has grown from 8 members when we started in 2011 to more than 60 members now, and we hope to continue to grow, because the more women who join, the more good we can do,” said WGT Co-Founder Sue Mahler. “Since inception, we’ve granted more than $830,000 to nonprofit organizations that serve Delaware County residents.”
