Since July of 1990, Jim Marlor has been in the insurance and investment industry. Jim started his career as an insurance/investment representative with New England Financial. In 2003, he became the fifth Managing Partner in the firm’s 108-year history, managing 75 financial professionals and staff located in offices throughout MA, CT, and VT. In celebration of the firm’s 100th anniversary, the Governor of Connecticut proclaimed April 25 2008 as New England Financial Group Day. Under Jim’s direction, the firm has been recognized as a Top Work Place and has received multiple industry awards.
Jim served 10 years in active and reserve duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain. During his spare time, Jim serves as a business mentor for the returning military veterans through American Corporate Partners and a financial guide for those visually impaired.
Away from the office, Jim has coached youth football, baseball, and soccer. He is actively involved in many charities that support military veterans. Jim and his wife, Tracy, have three sons: Ben, Keith, and Jack.
