I Don't Want to Be Happy - Said No One, Ever!
The Art and Science Behind Developing One of Life's Most Important Skills - In 5 Simple Hacks!
Read and reviewed by Jake McCann
This self-help book is about building self-esteem and having a positive outlook on life. It was easy to read, was the appropriate length, and the author was great at making it feel very personal in the book’s approach.
There are a number of interactive exercises throughout the book and several great quotes. Key takeaways include:
- The importance of doing simple acts of kindness.
- Training your brain to use positive affirmations and self-talk.
- Having a growth mindset rather than a closed mindset.
Regardless of your age or stage of life, it’s important to be able to have the tools required to live a happy and healthy life. My favorite quote from the book comes from when Zahrai shares a message she received from her dad after she applied for and missed out on a career opportunity. He said, “Life is full of surprises. The key to success is how quickly you recover from setbacks and move on.”
